Raising the profile of design and empowering designers towards greater impact

UX was a young discipline at Spreadshirt, but a passionate team was ready to take it to the next level

The UX team was positioned downstream in the execution process, but wanted more. We were able to show the teams' ability and the business value of design and lead the team to the next level of influence and impact.  

Before

UX as a discipline was present, but was focused on tactical execution with little to no involvement in product strategy or a holistic perspective on the users and their needs.

What we did

We assessed the team and it's potential, as well as the organizational realities we were facing, and developed strategies for growth. We enhanced the team's toolkit by establishing experience mapping, secondary research, design systems and a common language around interaction patterns. We refined the personas and their respective user journeys, formalized a design process, and empowered designers in various ways. Lastly we engaged with executive management and various departments to evangelize the potential of UX for the company, with great success.
